Cliff Lee dealt five-game suspension

03/17/2010 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Major League Baseball handed down a five- game suspension and an undisclosed fine to Seattle Mariners pitcher Cliff Lee Wednesday.

MLB's ruling indicated Lee intentionally threw at the head of Arizona catcher Chris Snyder during Monday's spring training contest.

Lee is scheduled to begin his suspension on Opening Day, April 5, unless he appeals.

The 2008 American League Cy Young winner spent last season with Cleveland and Philadelphia, posting a 14-13 record with a 3.22 earned run average in 34 starts.

Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
